Currently deeply annoyed and frustrated about how my preferred notions shop that sells the Good Thread doesn't have a colour between the two I already have and I apparently need... And the other singular shop that sells them, in a much larger variety but with such a shit website that the product photos for the threads are so beige and so yellow and of such limited gamut... That I genuinely can't tell what colour they are. And I'd rather not search for every single colour number individually because there's NO CHART of all of them???
Fucking hell, I'd really have loved to just buy some thread! ugh

And then work to limit the damage.
Then if it decided to stop using Palantir it could.

Interesting AI experience last week. The plumbers installed a new heat pump hot water heater. Within three minutes after starting up it issued a loud audible alarm and popped up an error message on the screen. The plumber took a picture of the screen and asked Gemini what to do. The AI came back with several paragraphs of incomprehensible nonsense, which began with taking apart the controller.

As they began to disassemble the new heater, saw that there was an error code in the top right of the screen, 'A108'. A quick search yielded a troubleshooting protocol which clearly said that if it was a new unit, this is a critical defect, and requires returning the unit. Fortunately, there was still time in the day to replace the defective heater with a new one, no thanks to AI.

I hate with a passion any kind of reporting that describes problems among teenagers as caused by "screen time". It depicts it as some kind of flaw among young people who deliberately spend too much time on their phones.
Call it for what it is: abusive practices by a handful of tech corporations. They profit from products deliberately designed to create addiction, and particularly so among children and teenagers.
Stop blaming victims and start blaming the perpetrators.

Yes, it's called the Fundamental Attribution Error and it allows the system/perpetrators to continue to get away with what they're doing as long as our attention and efforts remain focused on the wrong thing. The system has become very good at distracting people.
